  • Listening: This section evaluates the ability to understand spoken English in various healthcare contexts. It consists of three parts and takes approximately 45 minutes.
  • Reading: This module tests the comprehension of written English in healthcare-related texts. It also consists of three parts and has a duration of 60 minutes.
  • Writing: In this module, candidates are required to compose a letter based on a given case scenario relevant to their specific profession. This task assesses writing skills and has a duration of 45 minutes.
  • Speaking: This module involves a role-play scenario where the candidate interacts with an interlocutor, simulating a consultation with a patient, client, or carer. It lasts approximately 20 minutes.

• What are the scores required for OET?

  The scores needed in OET vary based on the healthcare profession and the country where the candidate intends to work. However, a general benchmark is a score of 350 or higher, which is equivalent to a grade B. The scores are reported on a scale from 0 to 500, with 500 being the highest and 0 the lowest. These numeric scores are mapped to letter grades ranging from A (highest) to E (lowest).
